What is there to do in the area?
Kampen
The view from the IJssel on the harbour, the town quay and the historical buildings of Kampen were a source of inspiration for artists. The Hanseatic city of Kampen at the mouth of the IJssel was once strategically located at the Zuiderzee and was nicknamed "Rotterdam of the Middle Ages". Everything in the city reminds you of that time, such as the Old City Hall, the Cellebroederspoort and the Nieuwe Toren. Art and culture can be found in the Stadsarchief, the Stedelijk Museum and the Huys der Kunsten. In winter, the inner city changes into one big open-air theatre during Kerst in Oud Kampen.
Tickets for trips
Fancy a day out? As a EuroParcs guest, it is possible to order tickets for various museums, amusement parks or zoos at a discount.
Cycling around Kampen
Step on the pedals and discover Kampen and the vast grasslands of the National Landscape IJsseldelta by bike. The cycle routes along the centres of Kampen are highly recommended. Each cycle route takes you along at least six special sights: past an organic sheep dairy and a cigar factory, for example. Or are you peckish? Two tasting routes have been mapped out, taking you past honest-to-goodness regional products. Take a tour of Kampereiland or cycle through the Mastenbroek polder landscape and sample some of the delicacies along the way.
Elburg
On the banks of the Veluwemeer lies the picturesque port city of Elburg. This cosy Hanseatic city has a beautiful fortress that breathes history. Typical of Elburg are the cobbled side streets with the displayed flowers and plants, the high quality culinary restaurants and the many boutiques. Just outside the ramparts behind the famous Vischpoort is the harbour, which is directly connected to the Veluwemeer. Admire the beautiful fishing boats while enjoying a drink on one of the cosy terraces.

From the IJssel to the Ketelmeer
EuroParcs De IJssel Eilanden lives up to its name. The holiday park is located directly on the Reeve Lake, the northern part of the Drontermeer, and close to the IJssel Delta—where the river IJssel flows into the Ketelmeer. From the harbour at the park, you can sail straight onto the wide open water. Nearby, you’ll find a junction of waterways: the IJssel, the Randmeren, the Ketelmeer and the IJsselmeer.
